Survie France

For 40 years, France has justified its nuclear power industry by claiming it brings the country “energy independence”. Yet, even before the closure of the last uranium mine on French soil in 2001, the fuel for French nuclear plants was largely imported. Now all of it is imported. Although uranium now comes from different countries, African uranium has always been indispensable for running French nuclear power plants. How then can France speak about energy independence? It's simple. French (...)

Survie recalls that what is at stake beyond the political and judicial maneuvering surrounding the different international arrest warrants is the truth about the Rwandan genocide and the absence of justice in the Great Lakes Region. Without justice the reign of violence will continue in that area. In this sense, the investigation launched by French judge Bruguière two years ago seems to be a biased approach aimed at (...)

During August 2006, Abidjan, the economic capital of the Ivory Coast, was victim of a very dangerous environmental and sanitary scandal.
Our focus on questions of migration is mainly on the immigration from African countries historically colonized by France whose political and social economies are still largely dependent on French policies. Immigration from those West African countries in the CFA monetary zone are particularly affected by the present government's policy of restrictions on immigration. The freedom to circulate, to move from one place to another is a fundamental right which must not be violated or (...)

Twelve NGOs call for French deputies and senators to delineate the responsibilities of the Chadian government in the strange disappearance of Mr. Ibni Oumar Mahamat Saleh and to initiate a parliamentary debate on French policies in Chad. For the attention of our French Deputies and Senators, Paris 29/9/08 Ladies, Gentlemen, In February of this year, during an attack by rebel groups on the capital of N'djamena, several citizens of the unarmed political opposition were kidnapped. Minimizing the crimes committed in Sudan would mean an undeniable setback to international criminal law. Following up on the in-depth investigation by the ICT's Prosecutor Luis Moreno-Ocampo which holds the Sudanese President Omar al-Bashir responsible for war crimes and (...)

On September 13, 1958, Ruben Um Nyobé betrayed by a traitor was felled by French soldier fire who were led to his hiding place in the forested Bassa country, not far from his native village of Boumnyebel. This assassination ended the brief but brilliant destiny of an exceptional man who might have guided Cameroon towards independence. Fifty years later the immense majority of Cameroon's population still vegetates in misery subject to the same forces which killed Um, that is to say the (...)

The genocide of the Rwandan Tutsis : The ugly face of the French Republic PART1 FRANCE.RWANDA. A genocide questioning French democracy. Billets d'Afrique N° 172, September 2008 Beyond simplistic political interpretations or a so-called orchestration of complicity, the contents of the Rwandan report on French implication in the genocide of 1994 require France to open a broad national debate. The timing couldn't have been worse than the beginning of August, just before the kickoff of the (...)

The reform of France's policy of cooperation Survie campaigns for the dismantlement of "Françafrique" (this term refers to the hidden face of French policy in Africa but can also be read as France-à-fric [1] ) and the establishment of fair, transparent and democratic Franco-African relations. The fight against impunity and the trivialisation of genocide Survie campaigns in particular for the whole truth to be revealed about France's involvement in the Tutsi genocide in Rwanda.
